The Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will roll out its “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps” job caravan in the other provinces in the coming months.

“Asahan po ng mga kababayan natin na iro-roll out natin sa iba’t ibang lugar pa. Alam ko naka-schedule na din tayo na pupunta sa mga lugar ng Pampanga, Bulacan, at Abra, at inaayos pa po yung schedule sa ibang lugar kasi gusto natin marating natin kung nasaan yung mga beneficiaries ng 4Ps (We assure our countrymen that this would be rolled out in other areas. We are scheduled to go to Pampanga, Bulacan and Abra, and we are arranging the schedule for the other areas because we want to reach where our 4Ps beneficiaries are located),” 4Ps Social Marketing Division Chief Marie Grace Ponce said on Wednesday in an episode of the 4Ps Fastbreak online talk show over the DSWD’s Facebook page.

She said the job caravan aims to help households that are set to exit from the program due to natural attrition.

As provided under Republic Act No. 11310 (4Ps Act) that was enacted in 2019, beneficiaries shall exit the program after seven years.

Ponce said they are expecting around 2 million beneficiaries to exit from the program by 2026.

The Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas job fair is organized by the DSWD, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and other key agencies, to assist 4Ps beneficiaries to acquire employment opportunities and other services necessary for pre-employment processing.

“It’s a whole-of-government approach. So lahat ng ahensya ng pamahalaan ay nagtutulong-tulong para maisakatuparan ang (All agencies of the government are collaborating to realize the) Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps,” Ponce said.

Through the initiative, the DSWD expects more exiting 4Ps households to gain employment and help them become self-sufficient.

On Jan. 31, almost 12,000 4Ps beneficiaries joined the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps during its launch at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Pasay City.

Earlier this month, the 4Ps job caravan was also rolled out in the cities of Iloilo, Tagum, and Dumaguete, and attended by around 3,000 participants per location. (PNA)
