The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday assured the public that its newly launched Kaagapay donations portal will provide a secure and transparent platform for sending cash assistance to families and communities affected by recent calamities.

In an interview on Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said the online portal was designed to make donating simpler, safer, and more direct for individuals and organizations who want to help disaster victims.

“To prevent our good Samaritans from getting scammed, we created the Kaagapay portal. If you want to donate, go to the DSWD website —you’ll find the link there,” Gatchalian said in Filipino.

He said the donations made through the Kaagapay portal do not go to the department’s accounts but are instead transferred directly to verified local government units (LGUs) or DSWD-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in humanitarian and disaster response operations.

He said only registered and licensed organizations can access the system, ensuring that every peso reaches its intended beneficiaries.

“This platform prevents scams and guarantees that donations truly go where they’re needed. It also allows donors to remain anonymous if they wish, while keeping their data secure,” he added.

Donors may visit the Kaagapay donations portal website at https://kaagapay.dswd.gov.ph/home. (PNA)
