The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) has joined a conference on higher education in the United States as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure that its educational standards are at par with the world.

In a news release on Monday, the PMA said it attended the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Annual Conference 2025 held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Dec. 10 to 12.

MSCHE is a global institution accreditor recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education since 1952.

“PMA’s attendance forms part of its continuing efforts to strengthen its quality assurance systems and advance its initiatives toward international accreditation and global benchmarking,” the PMA said.

It added that engagement in the conference provided the PMA, the country’s premier officer training institution, with valuable insights into best practices in assessment, governance and continuous improvement.

These elements, the PMA said, are key to its transformation agenda and pursuit of world-class standards in military and academic education.

MSCHE 2025, with the theme “Guiding for Good: Leading Through Change,” was convened for higher education leaders and quality assurance experts to explore innovations in accreditation, institutional effectiveness and academic governance.

The PMA was represented by Navy Capt. Emerson Namoca, PMA assistant chief of academy staff for education, and Lt. Col. Noah Hernandez of the PMA Corps of Professors, Chief Accreditation & Quality Assurance Office in the event. (PNA)
