One of the country’s leading developers’ groups renewed on Tuesday its commitment to support the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

During the oath-taking of the association’s newly elected officers for 2026, the National Real Estate Association Inc. (NREA) Chair Imelda Magtoto said the group remains fully supportive of the nationwide rollout of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s flagship Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

She added the association also supports the DHSUD’s 8-Point Agenda, particularly initiatives aimed at streamlining licensing and permitting processes to accelerate housing development.

The NREA is composed of private developers, real estate brokers, sales agents and other industry practitioners.

Housing Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling led the oath-taking ceremony at the DHSUD’s auditorium in Quezon City.

Apart from Magtoto, NREA President Ma. Loren Sales, Board Chairlady Magtoto, Public Relations Officer Josephine Cortez, Vice Chairman Amador Tolentino Jr., Secretary General Emelina Pulido, National Auditor Ma. Johanna Agudo, Vice President for External Affairs Cheryl Sanguyo, Trustee and Education Chair Rodolfo Leonen, Vice President for Chapters Zenaida Fruto, Treasurer Nicole Lim Choa, Vice President for Internal Affairs Lourdes Bernadette Carlos, and advisers Bansan Choa, Benigno Cabrieto Jr., Marcelino Mendoza, and Ricky Celis participated in the oath-taking ceremony.

Meanwhile, DHSUD Supervising Senior Undersecretary Sharon Faith Paquiz led a town hall meeting with members of Fairway View Homeowners Association Inc. in Dasmariñas, Cavite last week.

Paquiz said the dialogue was held in line with the directive of Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling for the department to be proactive in delivering efficient and transparent public service.

Around 182 residents attended the town hall meeting, which focused on clarifying issues surrounding the association’s suspension and guiding officers and members on the requirements and process for re-registration with the DHSUD. The discussion underscored the importance of compliance, transparency, and shared responsibility in community governance.

DHSUD Undersecretary Roman Nicholo Molina, Homeowners Association and Community Development Bureau (HOACDB) Director Lorina Rigor, Regional Office 4-A Director Lyndon Juntilla, and other officials and personnel from the DHSUD central and regional offices attended the event. (PNA)
