A free face-to-face three-part convention will commemorate the World Intellectual Property (IP) Day and National Women’s Month. It will be comprised of a series of panel discussions, virtual presentations and student pitching competitions celebrating the contribution of Filipina innovators beginning Tuesday, March 14.

Themed Empowered Women in IP: Leading Innovation and Creativity, it aims to establish linkages with internal and external partners and stakeholders in the mutual pursuit to uphold respect for IP rights. It also nurtures the best practices in the arts, creatives and science and technology.

The first session Entitled IP and the Future of Creatives will include roundtable discussions, virtual exhibits and research presentations. It will initiate meaningful conversations on the opportunities and challenges of frontier technologies, and their impact on IP rights and the industry.

The second section, titled Women Trailblazers in Creatives and Innovation, will spotlight a panel of diverse female Benildean champions in arts, creatives, and digital technology and innovation. They will impart their journey and achievements in their respective spheres and share the significant role of IP in their works.

The third part is Women Helping Women, a Student Pitching Competition which features women-led design solutions that address the needs of fellow ladies. The winning proposals will receive assistance from the college to launch their projects.

The three-part program is organized by De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde’s Center for Intellectual Property Management (CIPM), in cooperation with Benilde Hub of Innovation for Inclusion (HIFI).

It was made possible with the support of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines Bureau of Copyright, Department of Information and Communications Technology, City of Manila Local Government, Accenture, Stardust Metaverse and Wacom.

The convention will be conducted from Tuesday, March 14 to Wednesday, March 15, 2023. It will be livestreamed online via Zoom and on the Facebook Pages of Benilde CIPM-ITSO and Benilde HiFi. The program is open to the public.
