Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou, celebrity chef, successful restaurateur, and award-winning cookbook author, is set to go on a first-ever nationwide SIMPOL Book Tour in collaboration with National Bookstore. The Metro Manila leg is set every weekend for the whole month of July, beginning July 2.

The book tour will not be a simple and ordinary meet-and-greet but a vehicle to support Chef Tatung’s SIMPOL 1MillionMission campaign. They aim to reach and teach at least one (1) million Filipinos the basics of cooking and good kitchen preparation, the SIMPOL way. Chef Tatung says, “It is a bold campaign but aligned with our purpose at Simpol. We have been teaching people how to cook through the years, and we just wanted to quantify our influence through this effort.” During the pandemic, Chef has witnessed first-hand how home-based food businesses flourished, strengthening his resolve to help enable more aspiring food entrepreneurs by spreading easy-to-understand and easy-to-learn kitchen and cooking techniques. Chef Tatung hopes this endeavor will “make a significant impact in people’s lives not just by teaching them to cook delicious food but also by learning a skill or two that may help them start a career or a business in the food industry.”

National Bookstore is Chef’s choice for this campaign as they are the most extensive distributor of SIMPOL books. In each bookstore visit, Chef Tatung will sign books and share his insights, his culinary journey, kitchen tipid tips, and hacks as well – the inspirations behind his best-selling SIMPOL cookbook series – Simpol the Cookbook, DishKarte, Kitchen Secrets, and Baking Simpol.

Here is the book tour schedule of Chef Tatung in National Bookstore Outlets:

July 2 (Sunday), 1 pm at SM North EDSA and 6 pm at SM Fairview
July 9 (Sunday), 1 pm at SM Megamall and 6 pm at NBS Super Branch Cubao
July 16 (Sunday), 1 pm at SM Sucat and 6 pm at NBS Festival Mall
July 22 (Saturday), 1 pm at SM Manila and 6 pm at SM San Lazaro

This tour fulfills one of Chef Tatung’s dreams, which is to meet his SIMPOL followers and thank them personally for their unwavering support. Visits to key cities and provincial areas are already being planned.
