The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Antique’s capital town is calling on applicants to avail of the voter registration for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSKE) 2026 election, which resumed on Monday.

“We urge voters who would like to register to already come to our office at the San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Hall and bring their necessary documents,” San Jose de Buenavista Municipal Election Officer III Lawyer Johnna Catilo said in an interview on Wednesday.

She said that they could bring with them their government-issued identification card and photocopies of their birth and marriage certificates, if married.

The Municipal Comelec Office is also conducting the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) that enables voters from other places, like Caluya, to register in San Jose de Buenavista, so they no longer have to go home to the island municipality for registration.

“There will also be a satellite registration to be conducted at the Robinsons Place on Jan. 21-29,” Catilo said.

She said that they will also be conducting satellite registrations in the barangays of San Jose de Buenavista. They will meet with the barangay captains of the municipality on Jan. 23 to discuss their preferred schedule.

“We are coordinating with the barangay captains so that they can help us notify their constituents about our satellite registration,” she said.

The Comelec Election Registration Board (ERB) will convene on Jan. 19 for a hearing of the applications of 276 would-be voters who applied from Oct. 20 to Dec. 30, 2025. (PNA)
