The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) have reaffirmed their partnership through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) ensuring continued medical assistance for police personnel injured in the performance of duty.
In a statement on Thursday, Maj. Gen. Constancio Chinayog Jr., Director for Personnel Records and Management, said the signing of the agreement, held on Wednesday at the CGHMC in Sta. Cruz, Manila, aligns with the national aspiration for improved public service delivery, reflecting the direction under the vision “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
“Every day, our men and women in uniform face risk and uncertainty in protecting our communities. They deserve timely, quality, and compassionate medical care that acknowledges their sacrifice and strengthens their capacity to serve,” Chinayog said.
PNP spokesperson and public information chief Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño thanked the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc., which owns the CGHMC, for its ongoing commitment to the welfare of the police force.
The partnership represents a sustained effort to strengthen the morale, resilience, and readiness of police officers who risk their lives to maintain peace, order, and public safety, he said.
“When our police officers are assured that their health and recovery needs are well taken care of, they can serve the public with greater confidence and dedication,” he added.
Under the partnership, all police personnel assigned in Metro Manila who sustained injuries in line of duty will be given preliminary medical aid and treatment at the CGHMC.
The personnel would be able to avail of surgery and major operations, as well as the use of its medical equipment and facilities, from admission to release free of charge upon the presentation of “line of duty” status or proof.
The hospital will cover all the expenses up to PHP1 million, with the amount in excess of that being covered by the patient-PNP personnel. (PNA)
