President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined the observance of Al Isra Wal Mi’raj on Sunday, expressing hope that the significant Islamic event would inspire unity and perseverance in the country.

The occasion, which marks the Night Journey and Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad, is a time of deep spiritual reflection for the Muslim community.

In his message, Marcos emphasized the spiritual importance of the event, encouraging the faithful to embrace the values of perseverance, sacrifice, and faith.

“As you venerate this historic miracle through supplication and prayer, may its essence inspire among the Muslim faithful the value of perseverance through hardship and grief,” Marcos said.

“Let this observance also serve as a reminder that success is the reward of diligence and amity, and that sacrifice, persistence, and faith can guide us towards realizing our shared purpose in building a peaceful and progressive nation for all,” he added.

The President said the event symbolizes the steadfast devotion and spiritual resilience of Muslims in honoring Allah, the All-Hearing and All-Seeing.

Al Isra Wal Mi’raj is one of the most revered events in Islam, symbolizing the miraculous journey of the Prophet Muhammad to the heavens.

It is believed to be a test of faith and a personal gift from Allah to the Prophet, representing his steadfast devotion and spiritual resilience.

During this event, the Prophet Muhammad is said to have received divine revelations, a moment considered one of the greatest signs and miracles after the Qur’an itself. (PNA)
